Numerous low-complexity administrative tasks
Recurring tasks take time away from work where the practitioner’s experience and judgement add greater value.
AUTOMATION FOR INSOLVENCY PRACTITIONERS
Insolvency cases involve large volumes of information that must be collected, reviewed, communicated, documented and archived – often under time pressure and with strict requirements for accuracy and traceability.
Digital Engine helps insolvency practitioners and law firms’ insolvency teams automate recurring tasks. The solution is built on Legal-Assistant, our business application for insolvency administration, with Office-Assistant providing the underlying automation engine.
CHALLENGES
Insolvency administration combines extensive administrative work and unstructured information with legal requirements, financial analysis and a clear responsibility to preserve and realise the value of the insolvency estate. This creates recurring challenges for practitioners and their case teams.
Recurring tasks take time away from work where the practitioner’s experience and judgement add greater value.
Risks arise when assistants or case administrators are unavailable at the start of an insolvency case and notifications instructing banks to stop extending credit are delayed
Emails containing claims, bank responses, statements of account, lengthy debt-collection documents, company information from data providers and accounting records must be read, sorted, registered and archived in the correct location.
Information must be obtained from multiple external parties, registers and systems and then consolidated within the insolvency case.
Analysing transactions, identifying anomalies and deciding which irregularities require further investigation demand both expertise and time.
The insolvency practitioner is expected to recover funds and realise estate assets while keeping day-to-day administration running smoothly.
The work must be structured and comply with the guidelines of the Swedish supervisory authority (TSM), with appropriate documentation and traceability throughout the case.
When remuneration is limited, efficient and standardised working methods are particularly important.
SIX MODULES IN LEGAL-ASSISTANT
All six modules are part of Legal-Assistant and are designed for recurring tasks in insolvency administration. A firm can start with a single module and add more as its needs evolve.

ONE APPLICATION – MULTIPLE MODULES
Legal-Assistant gives insolvency practitioners and teams a purpose-built interface for working efficiently with insolvency cases and switching between matters. The modules share a common foundation and can be used individually or together.
This makes it possible to introduce automation gradually without turning each new area into a separate development project.

SYSTEMS & INFORMATION SOURCES
Legal-Assistant connects information and documentation across the systems used in day-to-day insolvency administration. The solution can integrate with document management, legal practice management and accounting systems, as well as external information sources.

Legal-Assistant can integrate with iManage och SharePoint for document management, Saturnus och CSI Lawyer for ongoing case management, and Fortnox when financial information needs to be retrieved or used in the process. For external company information, we use Creditsafe. The Creditsafe data feed is included in the subscription for the Legal-Assistant modules that use this information.
